Overall, my stay at the resort was promising with vibrant grounds and a stunning lagoon for snorkeling. However, the frustrations with check-in and room availability definitely overshadowed the positives, leaving me questioning the value given the high costs associated with the stay. If you're looking for a fun atmosphere, this might still be a good choice, but be prepared for some hiccups along the way.

While I initially started with a partial ocean view room, it turned out to be a mountain view instead. Thankfully, I opted to upgrade and got a beautiful ocean view, which made my stay much more enjoyable. The views truly enhance the experience, though it’s frustrating to have issues with room assignments.
Service
5.0
The service felt like a mixed bag. While some staff were friendly, others seemed indifferent and disinterested in helping. It didn't set the tone I expected from a Hilton property, especially when dealing with room mishandlings.
Location
7.0
The location is quite convenient with easy access to local attractions and the lovely lagoon. Despite being a bit distant from the main amenities, it still offers a nice landscape.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were plentiful but on the pricier side. I enjoyed quite a few local specialties, although I wished for more budget-friendly choices within the resort.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were varied and appealing, featuring a nice selection of pools and recreational activities. However, I did find the pool water to be on the cooler side, which wasn't ideal.

The hotel has beautiful grounds and a ton of amenities. However, my entire stay was marred by maintenance issues and a lack of responsiveness from the staff. It’s a shame because the location is stunning and has a lot of potential, but I wouldn't recommend staying here based on my experience.

Rooms

The room was spacious, but we struggled with basic amenities like towels and had maintenance issues that ruined our comfort.
Service

Service was lacking, as many issues went unaddressed and staff seemed indifferent to our complaints.
Location

It's located beautifully by the ocean, making it a great base for exploring, but the distance to amenities can be a hassle.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited at the property, with some expensive meals that didn't justify the price.
Facilities

The facilities are extensive, but many were not functioning properly, which was frustrating during the stay.

The Hilton Waikaloa resort is a beautiful property with tons of family-friendly activities, such as a lovely lagoon for snorkeling and engaging dolphin shows. However, the experience is somewhat marred by the high prices for everything, including dining and amenities, which left us feeling that it was not the best value for money. While the grounds are meticulously maintained and the views are stunning, the hassle of restrictions related to COVID procedures impacted our overall enjoyment.

Rooms
6.0
Our room was just okay; it was modern and clean but lacked any special touches. We had some issues with the air conditioning, which had to be replaced during our stay.
Service
5.0
Service was mixed; while staff members greeted us warmly each morning, the restrictions to request housekeeping and the wristband policy felt unnecessary and a bit frustrating.
Location
8.0
The resort is conveniently located with access to beautiful beaches and various points of interest on the island, but the expansive layout can make getting around a bit tiring.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were diverse and unique, but the prices were quite steep. We found it cheaper to eat offsite despite the convenience of the restaurants on property.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were impressive, especially the lagoon for snorkeling with turtles. However, I felt the extra costs associated with activities limited their accessibility.

The Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort offers stunning gardens and a vibrant lagoon, creating a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. However, the service was inconsistent, especially with housekeeping and dining, which detracted from the overall experience. While I loved the beautiful views and various activities available, I was disappointed with the outdated room decor and lengthy checkout process, making me think twice about returning.

Rooms
6.0
Our room was spacious but desperately in need of an update; the decor felt quite dated. We had issues with a flickering shower light and a lack of outlets, which made things less convenient.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly and accommodating, others seemed overwhelmed. Specifically, our housekeeping requests were not fulfilled during our stay, and dining service often left much to be desired.
Location
9.0
The location of the resort is fantastic, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful ocean views, creating a tranquil environment.
Dining
6.0
Dining options varied; while some meals were satisfactory, I found some to be overpriced with slow service, and one breakfast experience was particularly disappointing.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities, including the lagoon and pools, were well-maintained, offering many activities for families and individuals alike, which was definitely a highlight of our stay.

The resort is vast and beautifully landscaped, offering an enjoyable environment for a stay. The lagoon is perfect for snorkeling with sea turtles, which is a highlight. However, I found the dining options to be overpriced and the parking fees excessive. Additionally, the tram system was inconvenient, especially since it was out of service during my visit.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were clean and comfortable, though I noticed some areas could use a bit more attention to detail.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and eager to help, making me feel welcome. However, the housekeeping service struggled a bit with timing.
Location
7.0
The resort is well-located within Hawaii, with lovely grounds, but it’s quite a trek to venture off property for more affordable dining options.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were diverse but heavily priced, making it challenging to dine on a budget.
Facilities
7.0
The lagoon and various pools provide ample recreational options, but the temporary tram closure made navigating the massive resort a challenge.
